My Lacemaking journey
Not content with Crochet, Scrapbooking, mixed media, and drop spinning I have just recently started learning how to make bobbin lace. By chance, I was on a bus going to work one morning in June, and I was sitting next to a girl who's mother teaches Bobbin Lace. I mentioned to her that I have always wanted to learn to make lace. I contacted Amanda who invited me to attend a workshop (as a taster) she had arranged for the group of ladies she currently teaches. I attended two of the three days and thoroughly enjoyed it.
I am now 4 weeks into the weekly lessons and I have mastered (just about!!) the two basic stitches, Cloth stitch and Half Stitch. I have made 3 pieces of lace in the shape of a snake
and this week I have progressed to making a book mark. It is my current work in progress.
